General Note: Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, the 6 week period preceding Easter. Lutherans traditionally have marked this as a time of prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth with the goal being to grow spiritually and to more fully celebrate the joy of Easter Sunday.
